Launch night at the Mosaic, Swansea

McCanns have designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke Mezzanine Floor with Feature Staircase and Balustrading for the new Cafe Bistro, Mosaic based in Swansea, South Wales. This work was conducted in conjunction with interior fit out specialists Beacons Business Interiors of Brecon, and site Project Manager Andy Newell, of Newell Design in Cwmbran.

This exciting and refreshing project allowed the McCanns Design Team to display their design capabilities which compliments the company’s structural engineering expertise. Having taken the clients requirements into account, McCanns designed the Mezzanine, Staircase and Balustrading to offer a contemporary design whilst providing the most cost-effective and practical engineering solution. McCanns ensured that the complete installation complied with current Building Regulation and Health & Safety requirements.

The Mezzanine provided the extra space to house the wash rooms and toilets upstairs freeing up the ground floor area for food preparation and seating. Part of the Mezzanine has been designed as a performance area for many types of entertainment such as Live acoustic sessions, Jazz sessions and Classic Ensembles. The design is timeless classic vs modern industrial.

After opening Mosaic in Carmarthen seven years ago the owners decided to bring their unique brand to Swansea. McCanns were excited to be involved in this new venture and have enabled Mosaic to offer a flexible space to cater for a wide range of functions and events.
